HerrmannDr. Tyson J. Herrmann joined Gailey Eye Clinic in June 2006. He brings experience in treating a full spectrum of patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations. He provides primary eye care examinations, pre- and post-operative care, treatment & management of ocular diseases including glaucoma and dry eye syndrome, comprehensive contact lens services including both rigid gas permeable and soft contact lenses for extended wear, color enhancement, presbyopia, astigmatism, dry eyes, and keratoconus.

Educational background

Dr. Tyson J. Herrmann was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. Dr. Herrmann graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bradley University in 1998. Prior to graduate school, Dr. Herrmann worked at the Gailey Eye Clinic in Peoria as an Ophthalmic Assistant. In 2003, he earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. There, he was an honor student receiving awards for clinical assistance and practice management. His academic training includes internships at the Wolfe Eye Clinic in Des Moines, Iowa, the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan, the Veterans' Affairs Medical Center in Tomah, Wisconsin, and the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He is an Official Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry which administers the competency examinations for all graduating Doctors of Optometry.

Memberships

Dr. Herrmann lives in Clinton, Illinois with his wife and two children. His interests include gardening, astronomy, and model railroading. He enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and learning new things.
