Gregory Halperin, M.D.
Dr. Gregory Halperin joined the Gailey Eye Clinic in July 2003. He has a special interest in the latest techniques of cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation, as well as laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma. He has extensive experience using ophthalmic lasers to treat diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, secondary cataracts, and other diseases of the eye.
Educational background
A Chicago native, Dr. Halperin majored in English at Carleton College, and then went on to Rush University Medical College in Chicago to receive his medical degree in 1997. He completed his internship at St. Luke's Medical Center/Cook County Hospital, and then began his residency in ophthalmology at Rush University St. Luke's Medical Center. In 2001, Dr. Halperin participated in a one year fellowship in cornea and external disease at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
