Dr. Gaurav Singh was raised in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. He graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While there, he received the prestigious Howard Hughes research fellowship. Thereafter, Dr. Singh completed his Master of Science Degree in Community Health, also at the University of Illinois at Champaign.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree from University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine, he completed his internship at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Singh obtained his specialty training in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Eye Institute in Milwaukee, WI. During his ophthalmology training, Dr. Singh worked on several research projects and presented his findings at major research conferences.
In August of 2012, Dr. Singh joined Gailey Eye Clinic as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. Dr. Singh has experience in the latest small-incision cataract surgery (SICS), as well as, Advanced Technology Lens (ATL) implantation. He is also experienced in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Singh provides nonsurgical medical care for many diseases, as well as, family services for glasses and contact lenses.
Dr. Singh is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In his free time, he enjoys doing family activities with his wife and three kids. Distance running, hiking, and watching sports are some of his favorite interests. He also has an interest in international medicine, having performed charity cataract surgeries in the developing nations.
