Elilta Bereketab, OD

 

Dr. Bereketab was born in Eritrea, Africa, and came to the United States for further education. After earning a degree in Biology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, she moved to Pennsylvania to pursue her dream of becoming an optometrist. While attending Pennsylvania College of Optometry, she had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala with a group of 20 student volunteers and two optometrists to provide vision screenings and eye health assessments to over 3,000 individuals. Upon her graduation from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in May 2000, she did her residency training at the Baltimore Veterans Eye Clinic specializing in the treatment and management of a variety of ocular diseases, and pre- and post-operative care of surgical cases.

In 2004, Dr. Bereketab joined Gailey Eye Clinic to provide primary eye care, routine eye examinations, comprehensive contact lens service, treatment and management of ocular diseases, and pre- and post-operative surgical care. In addition, she offers bifocal contact lenses, color contact lenses, astigmatic lenses, lenses for dry eyes and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Bereketab enjoys exercising, reading, cooking, traveling and listening to music.
