In March of 1987, the Gailey physicians and BroMenn Regional Medical Center together opened an ambulatory surgery center dedicated to eye surgery, one of only three eye surgery centers in the state at that time. In July 1998, the Gailey physicians assumed sole operation of the surgery center.
Bloomington Eye Institute, also known as BEI, is located at 1008 N. Center St., Bloomington, IL. The Gailey physicians provide the latest technology in eye surgery procedures at the surgery center. Some of the procedures performed include cataract extractions with intraocular lens implants (with several options of advanced premium lens technology available), corneal transplant procedures (both traditional and DSAEK), glaucoma, laser, and eyelid/muscle procedures.
BEI is known throughout central Illinois for its exceptional eye surgical care and highly skilled staff and surgeons, carrying on the Gailey heritage to be the “gold standard” of eye care in central Illinois.
