Ken R. Barba, M.D.

Dr. Ken R. Barba began his practice at the Gailey Eye Clinic in July of 1999. He provides full service medical and surgical eye care, as well as cosmetic eyelid surgery.

Educational background

Dr. Barba earned a biology degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 1989. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1995. While attending SIU School of Medicine, he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, served as Class President from 1992 to 1995, and received institutional honors.

He completed a one year internship at SIU School of Medicine, and then began his residency in ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center, where he received a third place 1998 Beem-Fisher Award. He was also awarded the research grant from the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness in 1997.

In his free time, Dr. Barba enjoys the company of his wife and four children. His other interests include traveling, snow-skiing, water-skiing and racquetball.
