Dr. Alan E. Oester Jr. graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree earning high honors. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia.
After completing an internship through Indiana University at Methodist-Clarian Hospital, Dr. Oester returned to the Medical College of Georgia to complete an ophthalmology residency and served as chief resident. Dr. Oester completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
In August of 2011, Dr. Oester and his family moved to Illinois so he could begin his practice at the Gailey Eye Clinic as an oculofacial plastic surgeon. His practice includes the fields of aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery specializing in the face, orbits, eyelids, and lacrimal system.
Dr. Oester is a board certified member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He is eligible to become a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Oester enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their son, Oliver. Traveling with his family is a favorite pastime. He is an outdoor enthusiast and sportsman including activities ranging from running to snow skiing.
